In 2007 and 2008 the Plymouth Lib Dem Party had no accounts. A sum of money went missing, and allegations have been made as to who was responsible. The regional Lib Dem Party said they did an inviestigation and found “no wrong doing”. The Electoral Commission also investigated but were never informed of the allegations of the missing money so did not include it in their review not investigate that issue only financial management issues.
Everyone who raises the issue to request a proper investigation gets suspended from membership of they party and smeared in the press as being “investigated”
Two allegations, were made by the Chairman of the Plymouth party at the time Mr Steve Barton who is a respected retired policeman.
The regional lib Dem Party and David Allworthy at Lib HQ claim there are no substative issues here. What do you think? read the allegations for yourself.

Hi Both,
Attached are all relevant emails.
They will make more sense if they are put into date order.
For what it’s worth, I understand from SW Devon, that last time she [Judy Evans PPC]
stood, she disappeared off the face of the earth, only surfacing for
the last 6 weeks – including a similar period away as a ship’s doctor.
We must not forget, that she will disappear from City of Plymouth
after the election, leaving whoever is left to pick up the pieces and
start again.
Judith Jolly left us £1,000 in a bank account, to fight the next
General Election. This was emptied by Karen Gillard, and when I
joined the Exec, this account balance was £2.

Sorry I missed your call – I was driving in the City Centre.
The 2007 accounts were signed by KG [Karen Gillard ] as Treasurer, and D Earle [Deborah Earl – girlfriend of Karen Gillard] as
Acting Chair. They were never presented to the Exec, nor was D Earle
Acting Chair – in fact, she wasn’t even a member of the Plymouth Party
so should not have even been on the Exec as a lay member. This did
not seem to fall within the remit of the Electoral Commission. There
were other issues, as a result of which, KG [Karen Gillard] was contacted and warned
of her future conduct.
It is mostly because Richard was making a lot of noise regarding not
having the EARS info that I took the stance I did – Although having
said that, both you and I made requests for EARS, which went
unanswered.
Richard is a long standing member, who was kept out of reach in the
‘cold war’ with KG [Karen Gillard] – I think it is fair to say that his eccentricity
can be excused, but he is a loyal Exec Member.
